Today, we are are launching the 2008/9 edition of MtB. We are accepting BPs for the next couple of months. We'll be kicking off with a 2-day event in Venice, the MtB Venture Camp. That will be a networking event that will give more visibility to the greener startups seeking local seed investments. It will also give us a chance to have a more direct feeling on the projects best fitted to be invited to the Silicon Valley tour.
Francesca Leoni (RAI intl) spent 3 days with us during the Silicon Valley road show. She followed our startups during their presentations and 1:1 meetings. Here's the 10 mts reportage they aired lately as part of Sestante. It's a great introduction to our activity. This is the video on You Tube [VIDEO]
We had another full house for the first MtB workshop in Rome. An agenda packed with presentations from successfull role models and potential investors, surpassed all optimistic expectations. [MORE]
In front of a full house, last night, Econoetica with its Arianna product, was selected by the Selection commitee as the best overall project for the MtB Business Plan competition 2007. All the 5 startups received a lot of interest from the 130 attendees of the event, mostly potential investors or partners.
With a full agenda
of presentations, the Silicon Valley Road show has officially started.
The 5 Italian start-ups have gathered on Sunday 30 at the Clift hotel
in San Francisco.
Their first-hand impressions can be followed in our newly created BLOG.

Our selected start-ups are getting prepared for their road show in the Silicon Valley, planned for the week of March 31-April 4. In addition to 1:1 meetings, they will be able to present their project in front of a vast audience during the Mind the Bridge - GRAN FINALE event that will take place on April 1st in San Francisco [MORE]
Each of the selected 6 start-ups has been assigned a mentor. The role of the mentor will be to help the start up refine its BP and elevator pitch. The mentoring will last for a 2 months period prior to the Silicon Valley road show the finalists will undertake during March 31-April 4. We are extremely pleased with the top-notch level of mentors who accepted to get involved. [see LIST]
The declaration of the finalists
was given during a SVIEC event, filled with over 250 people who
included the Ambassador Spogli and a delegation of 55 senior Italian
executives in the Silicon Valley for a 2dd tour. HERE'S THE [VIDEO] of the announcement.
The 6 great projects who were selected by the Selection Committee are not necessarily the only "winners" of the initiative.
Our bottom line objective is to create links, opportunities, bridges,
as well as mentoring, for every participant. Thus, while we are
starting planning the road show for the finalists, we are also
brainstorming internally to define the next steps *also* for the other
projects.
So stay tuned to get more news!
